Portadown Cares Does Strictly Mamma Mia was a tremendous success, 22 dancers, 11 couples took to the dance floor in the Seagoe Hotel for this our 7th year. We were delighted to have competitors from 4 different countries dancing for 13 different charities and organisations. We also this year had our first male and female same sex couples. Portadown Cares are unique in this event, we give each dancer the platform to fundraise for a charity of their choice rather thsn asking them just to raise for us. This is a full production event, with professional audio visual, sound and lighting provided by Beyond Av Ltd and due to its popularity is run over two nights each year to accomodate demand. Each dancer performs in the opening group dance, they then in their couples perform a ballroom dance such as a Tango, Waltz, Jive etc before taking back to the floor to perform a freestyle which is any form of dance and any
form of music that the couple choose. We were delighted this year that our couples raised £39008 for 13 different charities bringing our grand total over the past 7 years to in excess of £219,000!!! If you are interested in taking part in our next Strictly, Strictly `Legends, rehersals commence in September and you can express your interest by emailing us at info@portadowncares.org
